LOBAKA Sauti

AI that speaks African languages.

A voice agent built to understand and speak the languages of the continent — making voice technology accessible to the people it currently leaves behind.

The problem

Voice AI doesn't speak African languages.

There are over 2,000 languages spoken across Africa. Yet most voice assistants — the ones embedded in phones, smart speakers, cars, and customer service lines — understand only a handful of European and Asian languages.

If you speak Yoruba, Lingala, Bambara, Swahili, or Wolof, the voice interface doesn't hear you. If it does, it misinterprets you. The result: a continent of 1.4 billion people is structurally excluded from the voice technology revolution.

This isn't a problem of will. It's a problem of data, tooling, and infrastructure. African languages are under-represented in training datasets, under-supported in speech recognition pipelines, and virtually absent from commercial voice products.

Our vision

Sauti exists to close that gap.

LOBAKA Sauti is a voice AI platform designed from the ground up for African languages. It combines speech recognition, natural language understanding, and text-to-speech in a growing set of languages spoken across the continent.

Sauti is not a translation layer bolted onto existing systems. It is a voice-native interface: you speak, it understands, it responds — in the language you chose, with the accent and cadence of your community.

Technology

Built for the continent's linguistic diversity.

01

Speech recognition

Models trained on African speech data, capturing the phonetic richness of tonal and non-tonal languages across the continent.

02

Language understanding

Natural language processing adapted to African linguistic structures, including code-switching between local languages and colonial languages.

03

Voice synthesis

Text-to-speech output that sounds natural, with prosody and intonation faithful to each language's musicality.
